Union Fleurs: International Flower Trade Association

Located in Brussels Union Fleurs represents, promotes and defends the interests of the international floricultural trade throughout the world.

Founded in 1959, Union Fleurs started as an international organisation representing the interests of traders of cut flowers & foliage and potted plants. Today, all the major floricultural trade influencers are represented in Union Fleurs.

The organisation has members in close to 20 countries across the world, involving over 3000 companies and 1500 flower traders and wholesalers in the EU.

Union Fleurs membership accounts for around 80% of the total value of cut flower, foliage, greens and pot plants and includes some of the major countries in the worldwide export & import floricultural trade such as the Netherlands, Colombia, Kenya, Germany and Italy.

Advocacy:

Union Fleurs is the representative organisation at the EU and international levels and as such, lobbies to promote and protect the common interests of both its members and the general floriculture trade. Two key objectives, for example, are to ensure the free flow of products between suppliers and consumption markets and also to provide fair and sustainable competitive conditions for floriculture trade worldwide.

Networking:

Union Fleurs offers its members an international networking platform, enabling them to meet and exchange ideas and expertise with other member organisations via regular meetings and dinners.

Being kept informed on any news and/or regulatory developments at the EU and international levels that may impact trading activities.
Union Fleurs will provide assistance to it members seeking to find relevant EU or international legislation or standards, as well as other documents.
At times, members may be invited to share input on position papers being developed by the Union Fleurs office with regards to advocacy & lobbying activities.
Members can also share any news of upcoming events or activities being held in their country.
