The Puget Sound Professional Florists Association was an organization of professional florists. It was founded in the 1940's to promote local floral sales.
Member florists would gather and discuss methods of improving the quality of flowers delivered to their customers in the Greater Puget Sound area. Their website included sections on flower card and wedding flowers – part of an ongoing effort to educate the public about flowers.
The Puget Sound Professional Florists Association was officially registered as a Washington Non-Profit (reg) company on February 8, 1991. It was later dissolved in 2008.
Florists in the Puget Sound area now have the Greater Seattle Floral Association (GSFA), an organization of professional, independent floral designers to serve their needs. The mission of the GSFA is to assist independent floral designers in the Greater Seattle / Puget Sound area achieve career success by raising the level of education and professionalism in the floral industry. They can also find support at the Seattle Wholesale Growers Market.
