One recent article profiled one of our favorite clients – Joseph DeLarge of Eco|Stems. Eco|Stems is somewhat unique in that it is one of a very few environmentally and socially sustainable flower shop where customers can find only local, organic and/or fair-trade flowers and plants. It is the only shop of the kind in Toronto. In an excellent in-depth article Garrett talks to Joseph about his shop, his philosophy and commitment to sustainability and also his experiences as a floral educator. It is a great read.
Designs schools and programs are frequently featured, as are the results from different design competitions. The site also reviews and endorses different books on design. It is great information for anyone interested in floral design.
Most recently, after passing the 1500 follower mark, they gave away an autographed copy of "A Fresh Look at Judging Floral Design" by Hitomi Gilliam and Kathy Whalen AIFD. The winner was Fabian Salcedo of F2 Floral Design in Austin, TX – an outstanding designer who was also a finalist in our recent AIFD registration giveaway.
